The STAR c420 team will be open to 24 sailors (12 teams / hulls). If demand is supportive, we may add additional spots. STAR c420 requires at least one year competing in c420 Open and experience with trapeze.

While we are able to create teams, it's always preferable for sailors to join as a team, with a partner in place, who they expect to race the full season (Spring, Summer + Fall) with. If your sailor does not have a partner, please do register and we will do our absolute best to match them with an appropriate training partner.

Registration for STAR Spring opens January 24 to sailors from all South Shore clubs; and open to general registration beginning January 31, 2022.

Competition costs are not included in STAR program costs. Sailors that wish to compete at events locally, nationally or internationally, should expect to incur additional costs related to event registration, event-related coaching, travel, accommodations, and more.

Event attendance - i.e. whether or not STAR sends a team to any particular out of province event - will be determined by sailor interest.

STAR runs annually at SMSC every Spring and Fall with training camps at member clubs throughout the summer season, and attendance at national and international regattas as sailor interest dictates. We run squads for Opti, c420, Laser and 29er, as numbers allow and we like to fill the ranks with like-minded athletes that share similar attitudes and outlooks.
